ABOUT OUR SCHOLARSHIPS:

The Tuff Boy companies have provided funds to ensure that students from low-income families in Manteca, Lathrop, and Ripon can attend the GVWP Writing & Technology Workshops.

The full scholarships will be awarded to low-income applicants only. (If your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch at public schools, you probably meet the scholarship criteria.)

Only students from Manteca, Lathrop, and Ripon are eligible for the scholarships.

The scholarships are not based on academic achievement or writing performance—GVWP workshops help all students to become better writers, regardless of their current interest and ability in writing.

To apply, parents must file a "Request for Tutoring" application with "Give Every Child A Chance." This GECAC tutoring application is available online -- just click to download! The application forms are also available at most public schools in Manteca and Ripon -- simply ask the secretary at any school office. Parents may also pick up the application forms at the GECAC office in Manteca:
322 Sun West Place, Suite A, Manteca.

NOTE: If your child is already an active participant in GECAC tutoring programs, you do not need to resubmit your application. Simply call the GECAC office at (209) 825-7003 and ask how you can enroll your child in a GVWP summer writing program.
